The structure has been manufactured of pressure impregnated, grained laminated wood of pine. Changes in humidity cause less change in glulam than in solid wood. As a result, glulam does not bend and is considerably less susceptible to cracking than ordinary wood. Because of high pressure impregnation and painting the products sustain harsh weather conditions. Impregnation class AB.
All foundations are made of metal, sheltering the wood from direct contact with the ground to prevent rot and extend the products life. In most cases, the foundations are made of galvanised structural steel.
Steel parts are made of low carbon structured steel complying to European standards. Surface coating has been done by using the unique LappCoat coating method*. Material thicknesses and steel qualities have been chosen in accordance with purpose of usage.
The walls are wooden slat walls.
The roofs are made of preserved wood.
The stairs have been manufactured of pressure impregnated, grained laminated wood of pine.
Parts built of high pressure laminate panels (HPL) are very strong and impact resistant.
Structure of the slides is curved laminated wood and the gliding surface is stainless steel. Upon the curved laminated wood there is a laminated surface that expands durability of weather and protects the upper surface from getting sticky.
The nets are wrought from durable, coated steel cables. Cruciform stainless steel joints keep the crossings firmly in place, protecting the fabric against wear. The rope fasteners are made of strong plastic; specially designed link fasteners are used when moving ropes and nets, to prolong the life of the ropes.
Caps protecting the heads of pylons are made of plastic intended for outdoor use. They are highly durable against temperature and weather changes and physical impacts.
Fastening accessories are made of stainless steel or hot galvanised steel.
Swing bearings are cast stainless steel passivated against corrosion. The structure has been efficiently designed to eliminate all movement outside the actual bearing surfaces. Chain attachment points have been optimised to fit Lappset's 6 mm swing chain. No separate shackles or other fitting parts are needed in order to attach the swing. The actual bearing surfaces are made of cast stainless steel. The bearings are soundless and highly durable against mechanical and environmental strain. The bearings do not require maintenance as such, but are easy to detach with tools, for seasonal storage for example.
The chains of all our swings are made of ø 6 mm stainless steel, which guarantees the best protection against corrosion even in the harshest conditions.
